Andrew Malone

Mr. Malone is an Associate Scientist and partner at Wildermuth Environmental, Inc. (WEI). He has 17 years of professional experience in water resources and the geologic sciences. His technical expertise includes sedimentary geology, tectonics, basin characterization, hydrogeologic and hydrologic analyses, aquifer mechanics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and database design and implementation. At WEI, Mr. Malone develops investigative strategies and work plans for hydrologic and hydrogeologic studies, works to increase the technical expertise of the company, manages projects and staff, and mentors junior staff, guiding them as they develop into WEI’s next generation of expert water-resources professionals.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Malone’s professional experience includes employment as a field geologist for the Indiana State Geological Survey and as a Geology instructor at Saddleback College in Southern California. Since joining WEI, his most significant work consists of redefining groundwater sub-basin boundaries and recalculating water quality objectives in the Santa Ana River Watershed to support the Regional Board’s revision of its Water Quality Control Plan in 2004.

Mr. Malone received a B.A. in Geological Sciences and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1987 and an M.S. in Geological Sciences from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1991. His M.S. thesis was published in a regional geology journal and won the journal’s Best Paper Award in 1992.
